Pottery Courses/classes & Workshops

Working with clay, whether it is throwing on the potter’s wheel or hand building, can be very enjoyable as well as meditative and therapeutic.

There is nothing more special than a piece of pottery made with your own hands. Whether it is a functional piece you use every day, a decorative piece for your home or a gift you have made for someone special.

Making pottery on the wheel is a three stage process:

  1. The first stage is throwing the pot on the wheel.
  2. The second stage is trimming, this is done once the pot has dried slightly, the piece is then left to fully dry before its first firing in the kiln known as the bisque firing.
  3. The third stage is glazing. This is done once the piece has had its first firing and is then fired a second time, the glaze firing.

My pottery classes cater for all levels, from the absolute beginner starting their clay journey or those potter’s wishing to advance their skills.

All my Courses/classes are for adults 16+yrs. I do not hold childrens classes.

There are courses for the absolute beginner who is new to pottery and the more advanced potter, there are also taster/single wheel-throwing sessions on offer, so I am sure you will find one that suits you.
